Ida is knocking on Louisiana’s door. I hope all the folks down there have taken appropriate steps to mitigate loss of life. Having done a couple dozen hurricanes and typhoons, ranging from barely Cat 1 to full-on Cat 5, I can tell you they impact people in ways you can’t predict or imagine.
